European crowdfunding platform and digital investment bank Investor is looking for a new CEO.
The news was revealed in an article to shareholders by current founder and CEO Lasse Mäkelä, who said after 8 years at the helm, it was time to find someone with the skills to take the company through. “to the next level”.
“I have come to the conclusion that the investor needs a new CEO. I do not intend to leave Investor. Instead, my intention is to join the board and focus on sales and business development activities, where I’m at my best. Completing our merger with Finnest is an important step and it is also a good time to make room for our next leader. The employees were informed of the upcoming change and a search for a new CEO began in cooperation between the board of directors and myself. I will continue in my current position until the best candidate is found and supported.
Mäkelä added that he intends to see the Finland-based company go public within the next five years.
In March 2019, Investor announced merger with Finnest, an Austria-based fintech that provides debt capital to small and medium-sized businesses. The merger was seen as an opportunity to provide both debt and equity services to businesses in need of capital while providing investors with the ability to invest in loans online.
The investor currently has more than 50,000 registered users in more than 160 countries. More than 200 issuers have used the service to raise funds. Mäkelä said he is extremely proud of the company as it continues to iterate and roll out new services.
